Queens award for innovation

Queen's Award

Her Majesty the Queen has conferred her Award in 2008 to TrichoTech in recognition of its outstanding achievements in the continuous innovation of detecting drugs in biological samples.

The Queen's Awards for Enterprise are the UK's most prestigious awards for business performance. This year 41 companies received the Award for Innovation. "Apart from raising the profile of our company, we are particularly delighted that our staff's commitment and contribution to this important work is recognised" said TrichoTech's General Manager, Rachel Woods when she heard of the Award. "Every test we carry out has enormous significance for the donor, and I am very proud of our team's dedication not only to broadening the scope of illicit drugs that we can detect but also at ensuring the highest standards of analysis are met."

Welsh Small Business Awards

In 2007, TrichoTech were recognised as 'Wales' finest' at the 10th Annual Western Mail Welsh Business awards, winning the Welsh Small Business of the Year award. The awards celebrate the best in Welsh business, with finalists drawn from a wide range of organisations based all over Wales.

The awards panel noted TrichoTech's potential for growth, innovation and commitment to Wales as factors contributing to our continued success. The awards ceremony itself was held in front of 700 guests in the Cardiff International Arena, and was hosted by political broadcaster and author John Sergeant.

John Wicks, Chief Integration Officer of Concateno and founder of TrichoTech explained: "We are extremely proud to have been honoured in this way. We have always been based in Cardiff and have a Welsh based workforce, which has been the driving force in getting us to where we are today. Wales is the perfect place to build an international business and we would like to thank all those who have helped in the growth of TrichoTech and look forward to continuing our success in the future."
