TrichoTech screens for a number of common drugs of abuse. For example:

An opiate occasionally abused by medical personnel. |
| Flunitrazepam |
Commonly cited as possibly assisting sexual assaults. |
| Ketamine |
A club drug often taken by Ecstasy users, but also cited occasionally in possible drug-assisted assualts. |
| LSD |
Most commonly abused in the 1960's but still today showing occasional 'spikes' of use in universities. |
Methadone |
Commonly administered as a treatment for heroin addiction, testing can be used to ensure compliance with and/or success of treatment. Can also be misused. |
| Methamphetamines | Methamphetamines including 'Ecstasy' type drugs and methamphetamine (Crystal Meth) |
| Naltrexone |
Used for compliance monitoring in the treatment of heroin and alcohol addicitions. |
| Opiates |
For example Heroin, Morphine, Codeine and Dihydrocodeine |
| Pethidine |
Most often accessed by people working in the medical and dental professions. |
| Tramadol |
An opiate analgesic, it can be habit-forming, but this is not very common in the UK, although in the United States a recent medical journal reported seeing significant amounts of Tramadol addiction. |
