Case Study 3
Parent evades detection from urine samples
A children's guardian was suspicious when two urine samples taken from
a parent over a period of 10 days were negative, as materials associated
with smoking 'crack' had been found at the parent's home. Instead of
a planned third urine test, a hair sample was requested and found to
be positive for crack cocaine and for cocaethylene, only detected when
both cocaine and alcohol are consumed together. It was later discovered
that the donor had been smuggling 'clean' urine samples into the test
clinic.
Do you have an example of how a hair test has assisted your case?
