Treatment and Rehabilitation
Clinicians and Drug treatment professionals use hair analysis to support
client history on presentation and to monitor the progress of treatment.
Oral fluids analysis is often employed to monitor daily compliance such
as methadone programmes for treating heroin addiction. Hair and oral fluid
(saliva) tests can be used to compliment each other; one clinic, for example,
supplements their regular oral fluids test with a hair test every 2 or
3 months to provide a complete picture of drug use
Over 120 hospitals and clinics currently use the TrichoTech service for:
medical and clinical treatment, rehabilitation programmes for assessing
clients on presentation, monitoring progress and on completion of treatment.
The unique advantage of hair testing is the detection period. The ability
to determine the substances taken by a donor on a month by month basis
(depending on the length of their hair) can be intrinsic to assessing
whether a rehabilitation programme has been successful. Creating a profile
of substance use on behalf of a donor, over a sustained period, can also
help the relevant organisations to determine the type of treatment which
best suits the individual, helping to provide the most effective rehabilitation
programme. View some of our case
