Long-term profiles of drug use
An addict was uncertain and confused about her drug use when she approached a treatment centre. She had long hair, so we were able to cut her hair into twelve 1cm sections. Testing each section provided a month-by-month profile of the range of drugs used by this donor over the past year, and helped the counsellor determine the type of treatment that best suited her client.
